Meet Our Instructor

Hillary Whitt is the owner of Grey Horse Farms as well as the instructor here. Her background includes over 22 year of experience; from competeting in USDF shows to USEF shows as well as schooling shows all across the United States. Hillary has ribbons from California, Arizona, Utah, Florida, as well as New York at USEF rated shows.

Hillary was very involved with the horses from a young age and is what we call a barn rat - she wanted to learn every thing possible about horses - not just riding. She spent hours reading and testing new ideas out to benefit her horses under saddle as well as in the barn. Because of this her training techniques and teaching style she really puts the horses well being first. Hillary has a background in Psychology so you know she will be able to pump you up or bring you down from any anxiety you have around riding. Hillary works well with children of all ages as well as adults.

Hillary is the barn manager here at Grey Horse Farms so you know she is keeping an eye on your horses and their care. If your trainer doesn’t get to know your horse outside of riding - do they really know your horse?

Hillary also works incredibly well with anxious horses, ones needing a brain reset (in a kind and empathetic manner), rehab cases, low confidence horses, inexperienced horses, off the track thoroughbreds, and many others. You can trust your horse will be taken care of and treated kindly around Hillary. Her training philosophy also includes LOTS of out of the arena work to create a surefooted and confident horse in and out of the ring.

Hillary can’t wait to meet you and to help you reach your goals. Whether that be riding the canter for the first time or confidently stepping into the show ring - she will be by you and your horses side!
